We teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to enable newcomers to converse, read, and write in one of the official languages of Canada.
We introduce social, cultural, and legal expectations for life in Canada, which are unlike conditions found elsewhere in the world.
We help our students prepare to enter the workforce by teaching North American standards for seeking employment, including networking, resume writing, writing cover letters, cold calling, job searches, interview techniques, and follow-up. In addition, our students learn about the employment market, wage and benefit expectations, provincial and local economies, major employers, and regulatory agencies that control professional credentials.
We connect newcomers socially with other newcomers and with Canadian volunteers for friendship and mentoring.
We provide free, on-site childcare to encourage full participation by men and women.
We offer free computer instruction in a state-of-the-art computer lab. Computers are an integral component of full-time instruction, and students have daily access to our systems. We also offer free evening computer classes.
We instruct a variety of non-credit adult education courses in computer software use and Internet skills, citizenship preparation, basic first aid, and conversational English with improved pronunciation.
